If you too have been suffering from seasonal affective disorder, let me just throw some words out there for you: fireworks, flame jets, fire twirlers and flaming sculptures.
This year, the City of Melbourne is planning its biggest ever iteration of Firelight Festival and we’re bloody excited because that means we get to escape the never-ending Melbourne drizzle for three days straight.
We’re talking dozens of flame jets and fire cauldrons that’ll light up the site, two magnificently giant fire sculptures of a phoenix and a deer on New Quay Promenade and Victoria Esplanade, as well as giant bonfires flickering along Harbour Esplanade.
Besides satisfying your pyromaniac tendencies, the festival will also host over 40 roving performers and musicians, plus three live performance spaces providing entertainment, as well as delicious food from across Docklands and the city.
So if you’re over the cold but don’t want to become a long-bearded shut-in, you know where to head next weekend. See you there.
What: Firelight Festival
