A well-kept secret of Malvern vinophiles, Allium is a relaxed neighbourhood restaurant and wine bar that boasts a cellar-full of dusty bottles, an impressive 14-strong by the glass offering, and a menu of tasty morsels to boot. Best of all? All this fine drinking and dining won't cost you an arm and a leg.
Yep, your refined palate (and wallet!) is going to fall in love with this gem of a wine bar in Malvern. Every Thursday night, the friendly folk at Allium delve into the cellar, dust off a bottle of vintage fine wine and sell it by the glass for just $15. Yep, you'll spend a measly $15 for a drop that'd usually cost you a couple of hundred a bottle. It's a killer deal you won't find anywhere else in Melbourne. But friends, be warned: Thursday nights are proving more and more popular, so make sure to pre-book your glass to avoid missing out.
Not a fan of vino? Never fear, as in addition to a stellar wine list, Allium's drinks list boasts a beverage for every mood and taste. Their cocktails and aperitifs are the perfect way to whet the palate, while their selection of single malts is sure to please whisky lovers. Fancy a brew or two? Allium's drink list features some of the best local and craft brewers, including Prickly Moses in the Otways.
With all these tempting tipples, you're surely in need of something to soak it all up. Alongside the killer drinks list, Allium boasts a bar menu of tasty Modern Australian bites.
