If the sight of bread makes you run screaming for the hills, you might want to check this one out.
It’s Victoria’s biggest ever gluten-free expo, and it’s running from Saturday 6 Oct to Sunday 7 Oct. The logo is gluten with a red line through it (not really, but we’re pitching that for next year).
Coeliac Victoria and Coeliac Australia are handling this one, so you know it’s pretty legit. There’s going to be 70+ exhibitors and market stalls dishing up sans-gluten tastings, wheat-free treats, and all sorts of coeliac-friendly products. You can check out the full rundown over here.
There’s also gonna be a ‘Genius’ stage where you can get lectured on the evils of gluten, and a Gluten-Free Street Food Precinct. We’re quietly hoping that arepas will feature heavily in that one.
If you want some recipe tips, hang around the Coles Cooking Stage, where Masterchef stars Courtney and Michael will be proving that, just because you’re anti-gluten, doesn’t mean you’re anti-fun.
If gluten isn’t your thing but you’ve got other food concerns, Coeliac Australia isn’t fussy. Everyone’s welcome this weekend. Low FODMAP, vegetarian, vegan and lactose-free—there’s plenty of treats for all of you.
The exhibition is running from 9am to 4pm. We’ll see you there for wheat-free muffins.
Where: Melbourne Exhibition Centre
When: Saturday 6 October & Sunday 7 October, 9am – 4pm
