A north-side artisan market…with beer! A partnership with Thornbury Women's Neighbourhood House and Northcote Social Club, Northern Regards Artisan Market is a high-quality, curated market with a focus on sustainable, up-cycled and recycled handmade wares. Brews and ethical goods, what's not to love?

Running in conjunction with The Fair Trade Festival (3rd – 18th of May), this ethical market will feature a wide range of sustainable, fair trade products, including jewellery, clothing, accessories and craft, as well as healthy food and drink (our friends at Pressed Juices will be there!)

One of Melbourne's newer markets, A+ showcases local small businesses, designers and makers who celebrate plus-sized women, as well as selling pre-loved wares. Not only will you snag yourself a bargain, you'll be doing others a bit of good too – 5% of all proceeds going towards a local women's charity.

Lovers of the homemade and handcrafted, this curated art and craft market features the very best Victorian contemporary handmade products, including clothing, jewellery, ceramics, textiles, glass and timber works and more. Grab a borek (as if we needed to tell you to!) and spend the day wandering through the stalls.

A haven for bibliophiles and bookworms, The Federation Square Book Market is one of the largest weekly book markets in Melbourne, with over 5000 new and pre-loved titles, including literature, history, gardening, travel, art and children's books. Go on, take a whiff of that glorious old book smell.

Housed in one of Fitzroy's oldest pubs, the iconic Evelyn Hotel, this cute boutique market features clothing, books, handmade pleasantries, assorted vintage wares and even the occasional tarot card reading. Attracting thousands of bargain hunters every Sunday, Camberwell Market is one of Melbourne's most popular trash 'n treasure troves. Peruse the second-hand, homemade and knick-knacky goods with a hot jam donut in hand. The perfect way to celebrate Sunday.

A mecca for recycled designer and vintage fashion and accessories, Take 2 is a favourite spot for women looking to spruce up their style at a fraction of the retail cost. The perfect place to make like Macklemore and get thrifty.

Fitzroy hipster hot-spot Rose St Artists Market is where those in-the-know find Melbourne's best art and design talent, the market featuring prints, photography, fashion, and jewellery, not to mention tasty treats, cool beats and bike hire! Afterwards head upstairs to the Young Bloods Diner rooftop and enjoy a house-roasted coffee, plate of coddled eggs and killer view of Fitzroy. Bliss.

Run as a side project of Thread Den, North Melbourne Market is a monthly affair featuring small labels, creative makers and artisans selling their incredible handiwork. The bulk of stallholders are fashion and accessory labels with a focus on the local, handmade, vintage and fair-trade, while there's also a strong smattering of stalls selling homewares, kawaii goodies and yummy treats.

Set against the backdrop of St Kilda Beach, this makers' market has been running for over forty years, and it's easy to see why it's so darn popular with tourists and Melburnians alike. With over 120 unique stalls, the market boasts an impressive selection of handcrafted artwork, wood products, jewellery, homewares, artisan goodies plus much more.

Sprout is a community garden project for people recovering from mental illness, drug and alcohol issues or at risk of homelessness, run by Mind Australia. The recovery-focused program allows people to develop skills through a range of horticulture and enterprise activities with a sustainable and creative focus. Their monthly market has a variety of stalls selling what is produced on site, whilst also offering stalls to vendors from the wider community. It's the perfect place to pick up local produce and hand made crafts, all the while supporting those in need.

Counteracting the fast food Big Mac culture, Slow Food Melbourne is bringing everyone back to basics with their monthly farmers' market at the Abbotsford Convent. Get familiar with some of Victoria's best produce, chat to the farmers and learn to truly appreciate every delicious bite you take.

Re-fuel and caffeinate at their popular brekkie stalls before you collect your produce from the farmers' stalls. There's a big playground at Coburg North Primary School, so kids can be kept entertained while you shop the morning away!

The Substation, a community-based arts venue in Newport, is now also the home to a bi-monthly farmers' market. It's already a favourite of organic-loving Westsiders, with everything from organic craft cider to homemade kale chips ready for the buying!

Held at Fairfield Primary school, this neighbourhood farmers' market features stalls packed with free range meats, freshly laid eggs, seasonal fruit and vegies, milk straight from the farm, handmade cheeses, nuts and seedlings plus more!

St Kilda's favourite organic, chemical-free community-run garden hosts a popular monthly farmers' market. Featuring the best organic, seasonal produce from around Victoria, you'll be spoilt for choice with fruits and vegies, juices, cheeses, honey, wine, free range eggies and more– all sold directly from the producers.

This community-owned market brings more than 50 Victorian producers to Collingwood Children's Farm every month. Head in early, grab brekkie (the buffalo sausages are UNREAL), a coffee, chai or fresh organic juice and wander the wonderful produce shops. Make sure you stay on afterwards to check out the chooks and milk a cow or two!
