Tacos are basically the perfect food—a mouthful of delicious spicy veggies, fish or meat, a pinch of seasoning and a healthy portion of hot sauce, all wrapped up in one tasty corn taco. We’ve hunted down some of the best tacos in Melbourne so that you know where to head for your next Mexican snack attack!

Beach Burrito

Fitzroy Mexican restaurant Beach Burrito serves up some amazingly fresh and succulent tacos within its incredible space, which (if you haven’t heard already!) includes a useable skate bowl. Come for the skateboarding, stay for the mouth-watering pibil pork tacos.

Los Hermanos

If you’re looking for some of the best tacos in Melbourne and are a fan of the traditional style, Los Hermanos is tough to beat. The vegetarian options are delicious, the margaritas are epic, and we love the DIY guacamole set-up, but the ultimate is the fish taco. 10/10 would-eat-again amazingness.

Touche Hombre

Melbourne CBD

These guys have just revamped their menu to bring back even more taco goodness. The soft shell crab tacos are TO DIE FOR, and single-handedly make Touche Hombre one of the best Mexican restaurants in Melbourne for a killer taco feast.

Lil Boy Blue

Delicious tacos in Kew, who wudda thunk it?! Lil Boy Blue serves up some of the best tacos in Melbourne—perfect for a speedy lunch. They’ve taken a more experimental approach than most Mexican restaurants—expect succulent duck tacos in a soft-shell served with mango salsa as well as prawn, chilli and lime tacos.

Melbourne CBD

Dishing up some of Melbourne’s best tacos (and that awesome Mamasita Margarita), CBD Mexican restaurant Mamasita keeps Mexi-mad Melburnians queuing up for good reason! This is definitely one for the meat-eaters—both the pig’s cheek and ox tongue are absolutely mouth-watering. Protip: get some hot sauce on that pig’s cheek. Pure perfection.

Mr Miyagi

And just when you’re in the mood for Mexican, Windsor restaurant Mr Miyagi throws a sashimi taco into the mix! A definite inclusion in our next “Melbourne’s Most WTF Food” round-up, this is a crispy nori taco topped with Japanese mayo, cabbage, sushi rice and chilli. Confusing but delicious.

La Condesa

The calamari, pickled slaw, jalapenos and aioli tacos at Fitzroy Mexican restaurant La Condesa are tasty, tender and all too moreish. La Condesa also does a great mescal Old Fashioned—trust me, it works!
