If you’ve ever been lucky enough to wrap your laughing gear around high-end restaurant Rockpool’s wagyu beef burger, you’ll know just how mind-bendingly delicious it is. Good news, burger lovers! Neil Perry is bringing his famous Burger Project eatery, which serves epic burgers, fried chicken, homemade ice cream and a tonne of other tasty delights, to Melbourne.
The prestigious chef, famed for his all-natural, eat-local approach to dining, has named St Collins Lane as the first location for the Burger Project in Melbourne, set for a March 2016 opening date. Not happy with opening just one burger haven in Melbourne, Parry has revealed that there are further plans to launch TWO more Burger Project locations in Melbourne in the coming future, in Chadstone and in Crown Casino, bringing his delicious grass-fed Cape Grim beef burgers to the masses across our beautiful city.
So, what’s on the burger menu? You’ll find everything from traditional patties to more adventurous combos (um, chilli cheese burgers, yes please!), and healthy bunless options for those who are culling the carbs. As well as burgers, Perry’s fast food hub serves up fried chicken, hot wings, veggie alternatives, and house-made ice creams and desserts. If thick shakes aren’t your thing, you’re in luck—Rockpool’s signature Pilsner will be included on the menu too.
The three new restaurants in Melbourne are part of Parry and the Burger Project’s master plan to make fast food with slow food values the norm across Australia. Having recently announced plans for Burger Project #2 in Parramatta, #3 in Sydney’s MLC Centre, and #4 in Chatswood (all in Sydney), we can’t wait for Melbourne to get its very own sustainable fast food venue. Roll on 2016!
