Lovers of Northcote’s much lauded Estelle are in for a treat as the more casual arm of the soon-to-be two-pronged eatery, Estelle Bistro, opens its doors tonight. Picking up on the zeitgeist shift towards lowkey dining, acclaimed chef-owner Scott Pickett last year decided to relaunch Estelle in two parts—the more relaxed Estelle Bistro, offering both à la carte and three or five course chef’s selection, and Estelle by Scott Pickett—where one of Melbourne’s best fine dining experiences will continue to be the focus.
Part one of the project is now complete, with Estelle by Scott Pickett set to open a little later in the year (April is tipped to be the lucky month).
Open for dinner seven days and for lunch Friday-Sunday, Estelle Bistro is a chic but casual space with walnut brown detailing and a new three-metre glass feature door, seamlessly connecting the inside dining room and outside courtyard.
Pop in for a wine and enjoy a little something from the snack menu—oysters and charcuterie make an appearance—or indulge in bistro classics perfect for sharing. We’re looking at you, lamb shoulder.
With Jake Kellie (ex. The Commoner and runner up in 2014 Appetite for Excellence Young Chef of the Year Awards) working side by side with Pickett, you know you are in for a culinary treat.
