February was full of damn fine food, from savoury to sweet, and breakfast right through ‘til dinner. Yep, Melbourne’s best restaurants have delivered once again, and we’re singing their praises!

Diavolo Pizza at Vapiano

Melbourne pizza fiends, get ready to swoon—the Diavolo Pizza at Vapiano is TO DIE FOR! With spicy pepperoni, capsicum and red onion scattered on a homemade tomato sauce base, and then generously sprinkled with mozzarella, this pizza is an absolute must-try.

Eggs Benedict at Ebenezer Coffee & Wine Bar 

Black Rock

New Black Rock café, Ebenezer, has hit it out of the ball park with their Eggs Benedict—it was easily one of our fave dishes of the past month! The beauty in Ebenezer’s version are the perfectly poached eggs—don’t even get me started on how angry I get when it’s done wrong—smothered with rich, flavoursome and totally moreish hollandaise sauce. Do yourself a favour and order this now!

Peri Peri Squid at Table Lamp 

Melbourne CBD

Table Lamp, a sleek Asian fusion restaurant in the Melbourne CBD, has been whipping up some super tasty Peri Peri Squid of late and we’re obsessed! Fried until it’s perfectly crisp before being sprinkled with Table Lamp’s salt, pepper and secret herb mix, the Peri Peri Squid is the perfect dish for sharing. Delicious!

Cheese & Wine Flight at Milk the Cow 

Carlton

Our love for cheese knows no bounds…nor does our love for wine. So you can imagine our reaction when we came across the Cheese & Wine Flight at Milk the Cow in Carlton—so excited, we were verging on hysterical! The Milk the Cow team have expertly paired five delicious cheeses with five types of wine for the ultimate foodie experience. Heavenly.

Pork Schnitzel at GG Restaurant 

East Melbourne

Could the pork schnitzel at GG Restaurant be the best in Melbourne? We certainly think it’s up there! Crisp on the outside and oh-so-juicy on the inside, the pork schnitzel comes with golden raisin puree, apple, celery and candied pistachio—it’s the perfect combination!

Wild Mushrooms at Industry Beans

Fitzroy

The perfect fusion of great coffee, spectacular food and stellar design, Industry Beans is easily one of the best cafes in Melbourne! We’re in love with the Wild Mushrooms from their current Summer menu—the ‘shrooms come with truffle foam (!!!), porcini powder, watercress, polenta chips and a poached egg, making it one of the best brunch dishes out there. Beautifully plated and even more delicious!

Mac ‘n’ Cheese Croquettes at Gasometer Hotel 

Collingwood

We’ve tried mac ‘n’ cheese in all it’s baked, breaded and battered forms, but these deep fried beauties at the Gasometer had us raving for days. Let’s face it, they’re probably a heart attack on a plate, but the texture of the crumb coating, the softness of the pasta and the spice in the mayo make for the best fat-feed bar snack we ate all month. 

Duck Breast with Sausage and Quail Eggs at Hobba 

Prahran

A decadent lunch if there ever was one, this duck special at Prahran warehouse eatery, Hobba, was a real treat. The rich poultry flavours matched perfectly with the crispness of the red cabbage and sweet chilli hollandaise salad, all washed down with a glass of prosecco—delicious!

Shroom Jaffle at Bad Frankie 

Fitzroy

Fitzroy bar and restaurant, Bad Frankie, serves up some bad-ass jaffles, making them one of our favourite eateries ever! (Seriously, present us a jaffle and we’re #yours4lyf). The Shroom Jaffle is a standout—how could it not be when it comes with garlic, red wine and thyme mushrooms, spinach, feta and mozzarella between two pieces of scrummy wholemeal bread?! Swoon.

Nutella Pizza with Fresh Strawberries at 1889 Cucina Povera 

North Fitzroy

Continuing Fitzroy’s run of excellent eats this past month is 1889 Cucina Povera, a family-run restaurant dishing up some of the best Italian food in Melbourne. While they’re famous for their pizza and pasta, we recently devoured their Nutella pizza with fresh strawberries—ma gawd, it’s good! The ultimate dessert right here, Listers!
