Man the Queen Vic market aged well...It doesn't look a day over 120, right? Must be a good moisturiser, because it's turning a ripe old 140 this year.
And to celebrate the big 1-4-0, the market is throwing a huge street party at the end of the month, inviting the public to get involved in the festivities.
With live entertainment, comedy performances, face painting and more, there’s something to keep the whole fam happy—and of course, plenty of food stalls to keep that hanger at bay.
Familiar faces will be all around, with vendors from both the morning and night markets signed up and ready to fill our waiting stomachs. Think fragrant curries from Drum’s Café, fresh fish from market legacy George the Fishmonger and heaps more.
We can’t guarantee birthday cake, but the delectable Greek doughnuts from Taki’s Balls we know and love probably make up for it. Our mouths are already watering.
Keep the kids entertained with performances from Mik Mak the Panda, then get down yourself with a pop-up Silent Disco. If flamenco dancing is more your thing, they’ve got that covered as well, along with stilt walkers, mime characters, balloon artists and a magician roving around (hopefully he can make our love handles disappear...)
