Melbourne is world-renowned for many things: Hidden laneways. Incredible food. Revolver at 7am on a Sunday morning. So we weren’t surprised when international events and experiences group, Lime&Tonic, announced that their latest Melbourne venture brings together two of these famed institutions (that’s laneways and food culture) in the Lime&Tonic Secret Laneway Dinner Party.
Promising to be the most exciting dinner party Melbourne has ever seen, guests will be dining on a five-course menu created by top Melbourne chef Peter Gunn, who heads up the successful pop-up restaurant IDES as well as occupying the role of Sous Chef at Attica—the only Australian restaurant to make the global top 50 in last year’s World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Focusing on locally-sourced ingredients, great flavours and both pioneering and traditional techniques, Gunn’s menu is sure to delight even the most hard-to-please foodies.
Melbourne’s Secret Laneway Dinner Party isn’t just about delicious food within an unconventional location. Each dish will be matched with a wine chosen by Single Vineyard Sellers from their internationally sourced stock, making sure you budding sommeliers have something suitable with which to wet your whistles. You’ll be doing a good deed too: 10% of the profits from the evening’s tickets are going to FareShare, an Abbotsford based charity that turns supermarket food wastage into meals for those in need.
While we’d love to tell you lovely Urban Listers where this secret dinner party is, we can’t! The location of the party won’t be revealed until 24 hours before the event itself (although we hear it’s going to be a spot within the CBD’s alleyways). Book your seat now to avoid missing out on what’s going to be an incredible evening!
