You read that right, Melbourne. Sushi nacho are now a thing, and you have to decide how you feel about this.
Personally, we’re intrigued. Intrigued and hungry. Sushi—good. Nachos—good. Put the two together and surely something exciting’s gonna happen.
You can get the sushi nachos at Sash (where else)—the same guys that brought you Japanese pizza, sushi tacos and sushi burritos. They’re basically high-grade raw tuna, topped with jalapeno, anchovy mayo, tomato and olives, garnished with red onion and Tobasco sauce on crispy rice chips.
You should probably wash it down with Sash’s new ‘Paloma’ cocktail— a Mexican-style mix, made from Blanco tequila, mezcal, lime, kefir lime sugar, pink grapefruit and soda, finished off with sea salt, fresh-cut grapefruit and a spanked mint sprig.
You can grab sushi nachos in entrée ($12) or main ($24). It's all part of our Urban Weekender series. Looks like everybody’s kicked a goal.
