It’s the race that seized hearts and stopped our dog-loving nation. Returning for yet another paw-fect event, the annual Hophaus Dachshund Race is likely to be the most adorable thing you’ll see all year.
Boasting the most inefficient energy to output ratio, these bite-sized dachshunds will pound their paws on a thrillingly teensy 15-metre track. The highly anticipated costume competition will also be making a return, just to max out on cute-factor. Who needs horses when you've got costumed, floppy-eared dachshunds?!
Coinciding with Hophaus’ Oktoberfest celebrations, the Hophaus Dachshund Race will be raising funds for Dachshund Rescue Australia, so there’s never been a better reason to leash up for a day of beer, dress-ups and fluffy confuddlement.
The Hophaus Dachshund Race runs on Saturday the 24 of September from 11am at the Southgate Podium Level. For more details, head to the Hophaus website.
