Whoever’s running the NGV’s event lineup this year, give them a bloody raise. Not only have we had Van Gogh, Hokusai and an 11-metre swimming pool (just coz), we’re getting an exclusive Christian Dior exhibition. And it’s starting this Sunday.
It’s a collab between the NGV and Christian Dior Couture to celebrate the seventieth anniversary of House of Dior. There’s only going to be two of these things in the world, and we got one of them. Soz, Sydney.
The exhibition will feature over 140 garments, designed by Christian Dior between 1947 and 2017.
“This exhibition will be the biggest Dior retrospective ever held in Australia,” says Sidney Toledano, the CEO of Dior. “It will cover seventy years of creation, presenting the emblematic work of Christian Dior and his successors, including Maria Grazia Chiuri, who arrived last July and is the first woman at the head of the couture house.”
Tickets are on sale now, and if this showcase is anything like Van Gogh, you’ll want to rock up early.
