Love pups? One of those people who shows a suspicious amount of enthusiasm when it comes to Halloween? You’re gonna love this one.
Port Melbourne is throwing a Howl-O-Ween Festival this month (and if puns like that don’t do it for you, this article’s gonna feel really long). Howl-O-Ween basically an excuse to dress your dog up like a clown/ghost/vampire/generic super hero and parade them through the streets, picking up candy along the way.
There’ll be a spooktacular parade (sorry) with paws-itivley adorable outfits (again, sorry) and a bunch of Best Dressed prizes up for grabs. Participants will then be unleashed on the biggest dog-trick-or-treat the city has ever seen. Pooches will get a treat at checkpoints along the route, and owners will get as much candy as they can con from households along the way. Looks like everybody’s kicked a goal.
You can register your pup at the Howl-O-Ween website as of now. Every dog signed up gets a free pet portrait, courtesy of photographer Erin King.
Do whatever you can to get down. Wag school if you have to (last one, we promise).
