There’s A New Food Truck Festival Coming To Australia Day Weekend

By Ben Tyers
6th Dec 2016

Things are going to get wild in 2017 with the announcement of a new food truck festival in the city’s north. Velodrome Food Truck Festival will be launching on Australia day and running until January 29th, it’s the brainchild of the teams behind Red Bennies, Beyond The Valley and Pitch Music & Arts Festival.

The crew are dubbing it the “Glastonbury” of food truck festivals. There will be some pretty wild entertainment on offer to keep you going, from Lucha Libra (Mexican wrestling) to aerial circus, medieval performance fighting (jousting sticks? What does he want for them?), art installations, a moonlight cinema and plenty more.

Of course, outside of that, you’ll find the usual festival fare. Live music will keep your ears ringing for days, we’re looking forward to catching the lineup when it’s released. Bars will be pouring your favourite drinks, from ice-cold beer to cocktails, there will be a food truck village as well as market stalls to keep you busy.  The full music, arts and foodie program will be announced soon.

The event is free and open to all ages, but you’ll need to RSVP which you can do right here.
