Man, so many buzzwords, so little time. You’ve got ‘secret’, and ‘drive-in’ and ‘pop-up’ and ‘cinema’. We didn’t even mention all the Disney movies yet...
Yep, there’s a new drive-in cinema coming to rural Victoria, and it’s kind of a secret. Well you know, until we got a press release and started writing about it anyway.
It’s called Drive & Seek, and it’s a project from the team at Ford. Basically, they’ve built a special drive-in out in the wilderness, and it’ll only be open for three nights this month. Each night they’re screening a different Disney movie.
Friday 21 September is The Lion Kind (nice), Saturday 22 September is Moana (potentially underrated), and on Sunday 23 September they’re playing the Pixar classic, Up, which should have you weeping in your car inside the first eight minutes.
So where is this magical cinema? Hidden away in a picturesque spot in Tallarook, which is about 90-mins outside the CBD (if you don’t know it, it’s up near Seymour on the way to Shep).
Best of all? All the sessions are free. All you have to do is register your car at this website, and that gets you a parking spot on the night. Registrations are open now.
Your ticket also gets you a comp’s popcorn per vehicle, and there’ll be food trucks on site slinging hot dogs and pizzas. You’re also welcome to bring an in-car picnic, if that’s how you roll.
Where: 210 Tallarook-Pyalong Rd, Tallarook
When: 21 – 23 September
