One of Melbourne’s best monthly events is back. In my humble opinion, there’s no better place to suffer through Melbourne’s winter chills than at the Coburg Drive-In Food Truck Festival. Get in early and load up with greasy goodness from Sliders on Tyres, Speedy Gonzales and Sweet Forbidden. You can enjoy your street-food hoard in the warmth and cosy comfort of the backseat, with one of the latest blockbuster releases, including Jurassic World. FETE DE LA MUSIQUE | VARIOUS LOCATIONS
Music-lovers from all corners of Melbourne, get excited as Fête de la Musique returns this weekend. Hosted by Alliance Francaise, Fête de la Musique is celebrated in over 150 countries as the largest free live music event in the world. Bringing you music that’s accessible to everyone, it’s only right that there’s a little something for everyone’s musical taste too. Lucky Penny have undergone a winter weekend makeover, and if the new food and beverage menu is anything to go by, this is the perfect place to hibernate! Boasting a new Scandinavian theme, The Hunter’s Kitchen at Lucky Penny will dish up delicious Scandi-inspired meals like confit red cabbage, salmon roe and slow cooked venison. Winter warming nights wouldn’t be right without warm (alcoholic) drinks, and Lucky Penny clearly know who they’re dealing with. FESTIVAL OF HOPE | AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL
In conjunction with the Moreland City Council, Amnesty International is presenting Victoria’s biggest World Refugee Day event, Festival of Hope, this Saturday. Showcasing the awesome contributions of refugees to Melbourne society, the festival is split into a daytime fiesta and evening gala. From midday, enjoy a wide range of performances and interactive arts and craft workshops with some of Melbourne’s biggest social enterprises, including Sisterworks and Road2Refuge. The evening will include a discussion panel and entertainment from comedy trio Two Refugees and a Blonde. Don’t miss one of Melbourne’s most important events this weekend, taking place at Brunswick Town Hall.
PRAHRAN MARKET TRUFFLE FESTIVAL
Calling all truffle-lovers, the Prahran Market has just the event for you. For this weekend only Prahran will host all the big names in Melbourne truffle-everythings!
