Some of Melbourne’s best foodie events are happening right now, Listers, so get your insatiable hunger ready because you’re going to need it to eat your way through this weekend. Here are our picks for the best things to do in Melbourne over the next few days!

Thursday 18

COBURG DRIVE IN FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL

One of Melbourne’s best monthly events is back. In my humble opinion, there’s no better place to suffer through Melbourne’s winter chills than at the Coburg Drive-In Food Truck Festival. Get in early and load up with greasy goodness from Sliders on Tyres, Speedy Gonzales and Sweet Forbidden. You can enjoy your street-food hoard in the warmth and cosy comfort of the backseat, with one of the latest blockbuster releases, including Jurassic World. Bring your best buddy or the fam to one of Melbourne’s best winter events this June.

FETE DE LA MUSIQUE | VARIOUS LOCATIONS

Music-lovers from all corners of Melbourne, get excited as Fête de la Musique returns this weekend. Hosted by Alliance Francaise, Fête de la Musique is celebrated in over 150 countries as the largest free live music event in the world. Bringing you music that’s accessible to everyone, it’s only right that there’s a little something for everyone’s musical taste too. Events kick off today, and wrap tomorrow with the main event at the Prince Bandroom, presented by Dave Graney. For more details, check out the website.

Friday 19

THE GEM CELEBRATES THEIR NINTH BDAY

Collingwood's kings of American BBQ, The Gem Bar & Dining Room turns nine this week! Their birthday is a winner every year—there'll be live music (think rockabilly tunes from Hillbilly Heaven), drinks, epic BBQ food and some late-night DJ action. We hear that yu'll find some tasty beers being given away for FREE too...Now that's a party we want to go to! If you like your brisket juicy and your beers cold, this is one party you definitely don’t want to miss, so get Friday night in your diary NOW, Listers!

THE HUNTER’S KITCHEN AT LUCKY PENNY | SOUTH YARRA

The kids at one of the best cafes on Chapel Street dislike winter just as much as we do, Listers! Lucky Penny have undergone a winter weekend makeover, and if the new food and beverage menu is anything to go by, this is the perfect place to hibernate! Boasting a new Scandinavian theme, The Hunter’s Kitchen at Lucky Penny will dish up delicious Scandi-inspired meals like confit red cabbage, salmon roe and slow cooked venison. Winter warming nights wouldn’t be right without warm (alcoholic) drinks, and Lucky Penny clearly know who they’re dealing with. Mulled wine and a range of cocktails like the Tom and Jerry (brandy, hot spiced milk and Italian meringue) are some of the limited-edition choices at The Hunter’s Kitchen. Skip the difficult decision-making and have it all. Open from 6pm til late Friday and Saturday evenings throughout winter, takes bookings.

DINOSAUR DESIGNS ANNUAL SALE | SOUTH YARRA

Dinosaur Designs are hosting their annual sale in the South Yarra store this Friday to Sunday! Stock up on the latest jewellery, accessories and homewares at 30-40 per cent off! Happy weekend shopping, Listers. 552 Chapel St. Friday 8am-6pm, Sat 10am-4pm, Sunday 10am-2pm.

T2 CHAI FESTIVAL | COLLINGWOOD HQ

Melburnians love their chai almost as much as they love their coffee. Thus, the awfully smart bunch at T2 have organised a chai festival this Sunday at thier head quarters in Collingwood!
