It’s election time, Listers. And if we could vote for things to do in Melbourne this weekend, this list of events would be our pick! From markets, to degustations in the dark, there’s plenty of variety. Take your pick of Sunday sessions, and say sayonara to spring, because Summer. Is. Coming!
Have a Kraken Thanksgiving at Trunk Diner in the CBD. Teaming up with Kraken Spiced Rum, Trunk is celebrating Thanksgiving with Kraken cocktails and a rum-basted turkey! Also on the menu is a pecan pie with Kraken rum ’n’ raisin ice cream that’s enough to get anyone in the spirit… get it?
Who doesn’t love new things? New menus especially are a favourite, so we’re pretty excited to join La Chinesca (now known as Harley House) in their celebration of a new menu!
With delicious offerings inspired by Head Chef, Daniel Salcedo’s (Rock Pool, Piqueos) recent trip to Peru, we’re particularly keen on the sweet side of things, with plum pisco merengue, dulce de leche and crumble. But that’s not all… nibble on some naughty treats while watching and listening to some live salsa!
Yup, as if the new food wasn’t saucy enough already, try something a bit sexy too, and feel the salsa vibes.
Reservations essential, phone 9663 8333 or email

If there’s ever a time that you’ve thought Melbourne is boring, and there is nothing to do, then you deserve a well-placed smack (preferably in a humorous location). The food, market, entertainment and social culture is epic in this great city, but one of its proudest and most exciting elements is its art culture. Enter, ART+MEL, an art initiative presented by Redbubble. Setting up interactive and experiential locations in Fed Square and across Melbourne’s lane ways, ART+MEL is all about taking art out of the galleries and onto the streets, immersing it in the bubbling heart of Melbourne’s culture. Running for two days only, make your way into the city to engage with art in some funky new ways! Also keep the party going with the ART+MEL wrap up party on Sunday at 6pm, 1000 £ Bend! Free drinks for the first hour, Listers!

The crew at the Robert Burns Hotel thought it would be good idea to have a party celebrating the start of summer. How silly right? WRONG! Today sees a fun-filled Andalusian Party welcoming in the heat and sunshine with gusto! With food (fish, grill, cured meat rolls), Spanish drinks, and Spanish music all day and night, forget the siesta, and join the fiesta!

Good Food Month is coming to a close, but don’t cry, rather send it off in style with a Caribbean Laneway Festival at The Bridge Hotel in Richmond. A crazy Caribbean street market will take over the laneway, hawking exotic tastes and smells from pop-up food stands and bars. We’re hanging out for the jerk chicken, Cuban sangas, tostones, piña coladas and Jamaican beer! Heck yeah! Bye Good Food Month, we’ll miss you, but we’ll toast to an epic spread of events in Melbourne, including this one!
Oh MSO (Melbourne Symphony Orchestra), your latest idea is pure genius! Bringing together two of Melburnians’ favourite things, craft beer and great music, is Beerhoven – a fun and delicious event at the Bakehouse Studios. We think this combo is music to our ears, with live musicians from the MSO performing tunes matched to craft beer from 3 Ravens Brewery and Mount Langi Ghiran. You’ve got to be a Muso member to attend Beerhoven, but that’s free—so what’s holding you back?
