Melbourne, what a weekend it’s going to be! Whether you’re a market fiend, an avid crafter, a firm believer in the wonders of food, or a silver-screen lover, you’ll find something up your alley this weekend in our fair city from this epic list. Phew, there are more things to do in Melbourne this weekend than I have fingers to count them on!

Melbourne Fringe Festival

You’ll find the city’s best creative talent treading the boards at the Melbourne Fringe Festival this weekend, which runs until 4th October. Check out the full line-up here, or read up on 10 of the Best Melbourne Fringe Acts.

The Italian Film Festival 2015

Whether you’re hankering for a romance, hoping to catch a classic, or just feel like watching something set in the most beautiful country in the world, you’ll find a film for your needs at the Italian Film Festival, which opened on Wednesday. Melbourne Underground Film Festival

If you love low budget horror, obscure tales and DIY silver-screen adventures, cast your eyes over the line-up for Melbourne Underground Film Festival, which closes this weekend.

Lamaro’s Bodega Has Reopened!

South Melbourne pub Lamaro’s has reopened this week with a Latin twist, making it the perfect place to chow down on some delicious juicy dishes, including suckling pig, rib-eye steak and ham hock. Headed up by chef Louis Naepel (of Mr Big Stuff and Grossi Florentino fame) you just know the food’s going to be good!

Guilty Pleasures At Supernormal

Wrap your muth around Supernormal chef Andrew McConnell's favourite dish, his lobster roll, along with a glass of Krug champagne for a pittence at the CBD restaurant all weekend long. Delish!

Joy O’Clock Hits Fed Square

This Thursday and Friday, get yourself to Federation Square for some joyous activities between 8am and 5.30pm. After some live music and entertainment at 2pm, there’ll be double joy at 3.30pm, when chocolate giants Cadbury will be satisfying your afternoon cravings. Free chocolate? Yes please.

The Food Truck Park | Preston

On Saturday and Sunday from 12.30pm until 3pm and 5.30pm until 9.30pm, Melbourne’s best food trucks are headed to Preston’s Food Truck Park at 518 High Street. Drop by for some lunchtime bites or a night of awesome nibbles and drinks.

Channels Video Festival

From Friday, Melbourne will be home to Channels 2015, a 10-day video art festival which sees projections, special showings and online videos take over the city. You’ll find some of the film action at Grey Gardens in Fitzroy—the perfect spot for some culture with a coffee in hand.

Brush Script Writing Workshop

Keen to make your own gift cards, design your own hand-scripted logos, or just want to learn how to write in a really, really cool way?! Work Shop and Old School New School (aka Melbourne’s most awesome graphic design club) are showing you how it’s done at Work Shop’s Fitzroy School from 6pm. Book in here.

St Jerome’s – The Hotel x Art Series Hotel Group

If you’re an art lover, you won’t want to miss Art Series Hotel Group’s temporary take-over at Melbourne’s most iconic pop-up hotel, St. Jerome’s – The Hotel. Saturday 19th

Cherry Blossom Festival Dessert High Tea At Sake

Melbourne’s top Japanese restaurant, Sake, hosts an afternoon of delicious desserts and teas this Saturday and Sunday from 3pm, making it the perfect weekend activity for the sweet-toothed among us! The tasting platters served with T2 teas are a bargain at $20 per person, and you just KNOW the desserts are going to be incredible. Gather your nearest and dearest and book in now.

Keg Tapping Party At Munich Brauhaus

Yup, beer lovers, it’s Oktoberfest time! Munich Brauhaus are kicking off the festivities with their annual keg-tapping event, which launches the festival. Book in to be one of the first to sip a stein here.

International Speak Like A Pirate Day At LuWow

Melbourne’s favourite (only?) tiki bar, LuWow, celebrates International Speak Like A Pirate Day with delicious cannonball cocktails, sea shanties and heaps of revelry this Saturday night. Expect rum, and lots of it. Entry is $5 or free if you’re dressed up like a pirate. Aarrrr!

The Royal Melbourne Show 2015

Running from Saturday 19th until Tuesday 29th September, The Royal Melbourne Show combines food, farming and agriculture, craft, culture and more at this annual celebration of all things Melbourne. There are some incredible pop-up restaurants tagging along for the ride too, including Huxtable, Bibelot, Zumbo and City Wine Shop. Delicious.

Make Your Own Terrarium!

If you fancy yourself as a terrarium crafter, get along to Work Shop in Fitzroy for a two-hour class on how to make your very own miniature plantlife world. Tickets are $80 each and all you need to bring is your very own glass vessel. Epic!

Closing Night Of MUFF: Sizzler 77

Get your eyeballs on Sizzler 77, a 70s-inspired tale of crime on Melbourne’s streets, as part of the closing evening of Melbourne Underground Film Festival, which takes place at Howler. Expect bad scriptwriting and even worse fros…

Upmarket at ACCA

Melbourne’s newest market, the Upmarket at art centre ACCA, showcases food, drinks, beauty items, clothing crafts, artwork and more from local artisans. The perfect spot for some lazy weekend shopping, Upmarket action kicks off at 9am and runs until 4pm.

The Gangsters’ Ball

Don your best dinner jacket or fancy frock and get to The Gangsters’ Ball, as the Forum is transformed into a swingin’ speakeasy for one night only. Expect burlesque, jazz, musicians, acrobatics and a late, late night.
