Zoo Twilights is a special event that allows you to explore the Melbourne Zoo at dusk with exclusive animal exhibits, musical guests (incl. The Waifs!) and of course delicious foods and beverages. Zoo Twilights run every Friday and Saturday night from 29 January to 12 March 2016. All proceeds go to Zoos Victoria to help fight wildlife animal extinction. This is a MUST for 2016.
Section 8’s famous Urban Oasis Beach Party series
Several tonnes of sand, beach umbrellas and some fine alcoholic beverages have been trucked in to Section 8’s killer outdoor space in preparation for their Urban Oasis Beach Party this weekend. Running for a total of four days and nights the sandy, sun soaked oasis will be filled with the musical stylings of Wax’o Paradiso, Easy Now Recordings and Flamingo Jones. Entry is free, so pop over to the concrete jungle turned tropical paradise and get groovy in the sand.
Howler and Secret Sounds present Elliphant
Our favourite multifunctional bar Howler sets the bar high for this weekend with a performance by our favourite Swedish hip-hop artist, Elliphant. A perfect mix of club, gangster, RnB and hippie vibes, Elliphant is sure to knock your socks off with her musical vibes. Grab a drink and enjoy the set. Dirty Dancing screening at Moonlight Cinema
Whether you’re set up on a picnic rug, beanbag or a low-lying deck chair, Dirty Dancing will be sure to get you groovin’ this Thursday night. Located in the Botanical Gardens, Moonlight Cinema gives you the opportunity to watch this classic romantic flick while you eat, drink, laugh, cry or even weep with joy. Melbourne Latin Summer Festival at Federation Square
Has your entire life’s purpose been to dance in a giant Zumbathon? Well get ready to be fulfilled this Saturday at the Melbourne Latin Summer Festival. It’s back again this year, celebrating Melbourne’s rich and diverse Latin culture. From 12pm Latin DJs will be spinning tracks while you dance to Latin rhythms, eat Latin American foods, sip Latin American cocktails and watch Latin inspired carnival performances. So much Latin, not enough time... Entry to the festival is free and it runs til 9pm, so be sure to get there early so you don’t miss out!
So Frenchy So Chic at Werribee Park
Have you been looking for Melbourne’s answer to a summer French escape? Well, here it is! So Frenchy So Chic is a day choc’ full of joie de vivre that is basically a giant party/picnic where you can bask in the summer sun with friends. Head to Werribee Park this Sunday at 12pm for the ultimate picnic party, which includes live music (Lou Doillon and Brigitte!) combined with crusty baguettes, cheese plates and chocolate ganache tarts. Are you a Richmond dweller who loves a Sunday market? Now there’s a fabulous market right on your doorstep! Offering up new, vintage and recycled fashion and homewares, Bridge Road Street Market offers up a point of difference. To make it even sweeter, for those outside of the Richmond postcode there is free parking in Highett Street and Richmond Plaza - just to make it easier when you need to lug your market goodies home! The market will run on the second Sunday of every month until April.
Slide in the City Melbourne
Are you a single, triple or ultimate slider? You better make up your mind quickly because the ultimate summer cool-off/adrenaline rush, Slide in the City, is landing in Melbourne this Sunday. The event is totally and utterly free, it runs from 6-8pm and is guaranteed to be the ultimate Sunday night wind down.
