If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be inside a painting, you can now see for yourself at Van Gogh, la nuit étoilée. This amazing exhibit at Paris’ digital art centre, L’Atelier des Lumières, allows you to walk among Van Gogh’s artwork and experience them in a whole new way.
As you walk through the exhibit you can trace Van Gogh’s life via his paintings, traversing through his different styles and use of colours. You’ll be able to see his most famous works, including everyone’s favourite Starry Night, illuminated and magnified through light and colour. The paintings expand over the walls and floors, showing each and every brushstroke. Some even spread across two storeys, and as you take the stairs to the next level, you can get up close and personal with Van Gogh and his portraits.
Each painting comes alive in a unique way; watch the flowers float away in Van Gogh’s Almond Blossoms or stand on the swaying water in his Starry Night On The Rhone. Along the way, you’ll hear music from composer Luca Longobardi, which sets the mood for each piece.
This exhibit is the creation of Culturespaces, who bring centuries-old artwork into the digital sphere for everyone to enjoy, and with their Van Gogh exhibit lasting until December, there’s plenty of time to get there and experience it for yourself.
