There’s A Huge Tasmanian Food & Wine Festival On This Weekend

As much as we rag on Tasmania, it’s only because we know, deep deep down, they do things better than the mainland. Especially in the food and fresh produce department.

But if tickets for The Spirit are a little out of your price range, we’ve got some good news. Tassie’s best food and wine is coming to you this weekend, in the form of the Vin Dieman Festival.

We’re talking blushing pink Huon salmon on ice. A tower of washed-rind cheeses from Bruny Island Cheese Co. Free-range Nichols chicken tacos, wasabi-buttermilk wings, spoonfuls of Meander Valley Dairy double cream, plus over 100 of the island’s top wine producers, all kicking off at Meat Market in North Melbourne.

Frothy fans, they haven’t forgotten you either. There’ll be a collection of craft breweries slinging beers all day long, including Hartshorn Distillery, Strait Brands, the Abel Gin Co. and Willie Smith's organic apple cider (not to be confused with Will Smith’s apple cider).

The Details

Where: Meat Market, 5 Blackwood St, North Melbourne
When: 11am – 5pm, Sunday 13 August
