The Millennial Guide To Throwing An Epic Wedding

By Steff Tan - 30 Aug 2017

Planning a wedding is hard. There, we said it. It’s hard and expensive and difficult and costly, and if it wasn’t for the whole everlasting love thing, no-one would bother doing it at all.

This is the typical millennial attitude towards weddings, and with the price of the average Australian wedding sitting at a deposit-sized $65,482, you can kind of see their point. But if you’ve still got your heart set on a magical day, we’ve pulled together a no-fuss guide to doing it right.

The Hashtag

I Do Hashtags

First thing's first, you're going to need a good hashtag to set the tone of your day. And it makes sure that you can keep track of all those moments that you might miss on the big day.

I Do Hashtags do exactly that, hashtags. They'll gather all the info they need from you to create the perfect unique hashtag for your wedding (or any other event for that matter).

The Venue

The Winery | Brown Brothers Milawa Vineyard

For those stunning vineyard photographs that seem to go on and on into the sunset, check out The Winery at Milawa. Brown Brother's fully restored Historic Barn is a blend of rustic charm and glittering elegance, perfect for couples looking for a unique venue to tie the knot. But it doesn’t end there—just outside is the dainty English style cottage garden for a sweetly intimate ceremony or a moment to soak in all the love. The Winery offer packages for weddings, engagements, and hen’s nights.

The Industrial Florist | Glasshaus

Inside or outside, Glasshaus will guarantee you an Eden. Foliage hangs from the ceiling and tons of unique plants and flowers fill the space from up to 70 suppliers. The Glasshaus also has a dedicated catering space, a bar, and packages if furniture is required. They also provide an all-inclusive package for food and drinks or feel free to choose your own. Decorative plants are obviously already provided. #winning

The City Club | Kelvin Club

Celebrating its 151st year, the Kelvin Club has some serious manly history to it. A private men’s club ‘til 1997, the club has evolved from a v Kingsmen vibe club to a chiller Kingsmen club with a billiards room, fine dining, a bar for drinking and gigs, and a function room. For weddings, the Dining Room is a classically grand space for our history lovers out there…or couples who just love Kingsmen.

The Cinema | Astor Theatre

The Astor Theatre with its auditorium, golden curtains, and theatre magic welcomes couples to declare their unyielding love to each other where our favourite on-screen couples have too. The people at Astor are also more than happy to help transform the theatre into whatever setting you want it to be.

But if you’ve always wanted to get married at the zoo, check it and other awesomely different wedding venues here.
