The friendly folk at Allium Food & Wine are offering a very special Father's Day sharing menu, to be enjoyed for lunch or dinner. What's on the menu, you ask? Think curried eel croquettes, smoked duck ham roll, fried halloumi with caper raisin dressing and roast green beans with polonaise…oh boy, and that's just for starters! It only gets better from there, with confit pork cheek, spiced lamb shoulder and spicy braised eggplant with Korean rice cakes. Drool! The Brunswick East brewery is offering a special menu for this Sunday, with the choice of two or three courses paired with Temple beer. We're eying off the confit duck leg with smoked ham and braised bean stew, matched with a Der Handschlag brew. Is Dad a beer-loving sweet tooth? Opt for the Stout & Chocolate Tart, served with a dollop of mascarpone cream. Beery good, Temple, beery good.

Dad loves a tipple? Take him along to the Beer, Whisky and Wine Father's Day Lunch at Woodland House. Chefs Thomas Woods and Hayden McFarland have crafted a six-course lunch for $110 per person, with a beverage match of (you guessed it!) beer, whisky and wine for $65. Renowned for their delectable degustations, their Father's Day menu certainly won't disappoint, with yummy-sounding dishes like Western Plains pork with black barley, stout vinaigrette matched with Chesnut Pilsner, and Sher Wagyu paired with Nicola potato and local saltbush, matched with a 2012 Spinefex 'Bete Noir' Shiraz. Stumped for things to do this Father's Day in Melbourne? Head to Movida Aqui to spoil your main man with an afternoon of tapas, cava and melt-in-your-mouth slow roasted lamb shoulder. This Father's Day, treat the big man to a $19 Manwich lunch menu at Geebung Polo Club, featuring brisket and sauerkraut sangas, the 'Man Club' sandwich, or the spicy 'Ring of Fire' pulled pork number. Hip new Americana eatery, Mr Big Stuff, is hosting a special Father's Day lunch this Sunday, with a set menu of Southern fried fare at just $55 a head, including a glass of vino or beer. Their chicken waffles are to die for (quite literally…not recommended for dads with high cholesterol!). Dig in, y'all!

No.8 by John Lawson | Southbank
Knowing there's nothing better than a traditional Sunday roast (amen!), No. 8 by John Lawson is offering a three-course roast menu this Father's Day. Guests will sip on Moet & Chandon NV Brut Imperial before they dig in to a hearty roast main, with all the glorious trimmings, of course. Dads will also be gifted with a small present from Crown (tip – it's sure better than last year's sock gift!).

Serving up some of the best darn steak in Melbourne, Steak Ministry is the perfect place to take your meat-loving dad this Father's Day. First up on the set menu? The 'Father's Day Snack' of honey and tequila lamb ribs with rosemary chips. Holy moly! For entrees, dads have a choice of freshly shucked pacific oysters with spicy kim chi and crispy pork belly, petit grain fed beef wellington and Cuban pulled pork sliders (good lord, what a tough choice!). The decisions only get harder with the mains, with three delicious steaks (we spy Sher Wagyu!) and Tennessee whisky BBQ baby back pork ribs on the menu. A termite walks into a bar and asks 'is the bar tender here?'. Well the bar is certainly tender at Ombra! The city salumi bar is celebrating Father's Day (and terrible dad jokes!) with a set delicious menu, available at lunch or dinner for just $45 a head. Last time we checked, our friends at Ombra say there are still some spots left in their sketchy Italian neighbourhood... Spaghetto (we promise the food will be better than their jokes!).

On of the best restaurants in Melbourne, Northcote's Estelle has designed a moreish menu for all the peckish papas this Father's Day. Head chef Scott Pickett's three-course menu celebrates all things spring and delicious, with a Sher wagyu bresaola salad, roast rib of beef with spring vegetables and chocolate fondant with malted milk ice cream. Guaranteed to please!

Don't settle for Sushi Sushi this Father's Day – treat your old man to the five-course Omakase menu at Nobu. The feast starts with a red snapper sashimi, wasabi salsa and yuzu soy, before moving on to assorted sushi, scallop filo with truffle yuzu sauce and a miso zuke striploin. The dessert? Let's just it's almost as sweet as your dear Pops – a chocolate soil with cherry sorbet, Suntory whiskey jelly cocoa nib tuile and popping candy…phew! The set menu costs $130 for five courses, or $165 for matched wine (do it!). And, as always, Crown's throwing in a special gift for all the lucky dads.

It's all about the beef this Father's Day at Union Dining, with a special set menu of pure, unadulterated wagyu. Start the lunch off with Sher Wagyu carpaccio before moving on to the Sher Wagyu F1 char grilled rib eye MS6 with cauliflower puree and madeira jus, and finish with a dessert of Sher Wagyu…just kidding! Dessert is a decadent chocolate bread pudding, coffee ice cream and bourbon sauce. Sweet baby Wagyu, that sounds goooood!

Treat your papa this Father's Day with an authentic Italian feast at Italian Chef in Prahran. They've got a tasty menu available for both lunch and dinner, with a starter of anti pasto followed by lasagne, linguini alla marinara or eye fillet. What's for dessert, you ask? Well you've got a choice between Italian chef's decadent tiramisu or their nutella calzone. Yum! All this, plus a beer, prosecco or glass of vino to start, for just $45. Bellisimo!

We all know dads are kings of the tongs, so what better way to treat the old man this Father's Day in Melbourne than with a BBQ meat feast at The Vincent. We can't wait to dig in to the two-course family style barbeque menu, featuring sticky baby back ribs and pulled pork (guaranteed to be a favourite!). Mornington Peninsula Brewery will be taking over the taps, pouring Pale Ale, IPA, Brown or Porter for $5 a pot and $12 a tasting paddle. Dad keen to bust out some moves? A five–piece blues band will be supplying the tunes.

Can't get enough of your dad's cheesy jokes? Then treat him to a day of fromage, vino and brews this Father's Day. One of The Urban List's favourite fromageries, Milk the Cow, is offering a special four cheese cheeseboard this Father's Day (all for just $28!). Match your fancy fromage with a bottle of plonk ($65) or two glasses of boutique beer ($45) and you've got yourself one happy chappy. They'll also be selling special take-home cheese hampers for wine-lovers and beer-guzzlers.

Richmond Club Hotel | Richmond
Meat + beer + footy = ultimate Father's Day! Amirite, dads? This Father's Day lunch or dinner, head to the Richmond Club Hotel, where you can choose between one of three specialty steaks for $29. What's more, the friendly folk behind the bar will also shout all the dads a free pint of their choosing (free beer, you say?). The Richmond v Port Elimination Final will be screened live and there'll be a $300 meat tray up for grabs.

This Father's Day, Brunswick East's Rumi is hosting a mammoth banquet dinner, with six courses of delicious, Middle Eastern fare for just $60 a head. There's the option of a $25 beer match, which is sure to please all Pops. Let's just say you'll roll outta there resembling Turkish delight (a little bit more wobbly and covered in powdered sugar).
