Animal lovers unite! We’ve just got news that our fave festival is back for 2018, and yes, you absolutely need to clear your diaries right now.
For one weekend only (AKA the June long weekend), Wine & Wildlife is taking over the Healesville Sanctuary so you can eat cheese, drink wine and get up close n’ personal with the cutest echidnas, possums, and wombats you’ve ever seen.
From 11am to 4pm each day, keepers will be roaming the grounds with scaly, feathered and furry friends while you sample some of the best wine to come out of the Yarra Valley (think Punt Road Wines, Oakridge, One Block, Mandala and a whole lot more). For those feeling the cold, there’ll be delicious mulled wine, and if wine’s not your thing, there’ll be local craft beer and an epic G&T bar by the guys at Four Pillars.
Sanctuary Harvest will be bringing their paella and churros food truck. They’ll also serve up their mouth-watering braised local beef bourguignon and buttermilk fried chicken burgers. But the deliciousness doesn’t stop there—there’s also going to be plenty of cheese and charcuterie for you to eat yourself into a food coma.
If you need any more convincing, all Wine & Wildlife proceeds will go towards supporting Zoos Victoria’s programs to help prevent the extinction of 21 local species.
