Ah, chocolate. No matter what kind of bad luck your day brings you, it’s nothing that can’t be solved by a quick run down to the Woolies for something chocolatey. Or two. Or three. We love our choc so much that we’re pretty freakin’ stoked to find there’s a whole day devoted to it – World Chocolate Day – and that Melbourne goes *off* for it.
Here’s all the things you need to try on World Chocolate Day in Melbourne.
Lune Croissanterie x Koko Black
If you follow Lune Croissanterie on Insta (and we know you do, because yum) you’ve probably noticed something pretty exciting pop-up recently. Melbourne's masters of pastry have teamed up with Koko Black to create the croissants to end all croissants. Filled with pistachio marzipan, dark chocolate ganache, pistachio and toasted cacao nib frangipane and topped with dark choc and pistachios. Honessssstly. Kate Reid from Lune has likened the finished product to the Sydney opera house—too bad Sydney's gonna miss out *smug*
When: Friday 6 July & Saturday 7 July
Where: Koko Black stores + Lune Croissiantere, 119 Rose St, Fitzroy

Fancy folks, rejoice! Belgian big-shot Godiva is offering up a brand new, almost-too-good-to-be-true hot choc for the day. This is going to be big for your Insta feed—there’s salted caramel popcorn, a dark chocolate nest and even a white choc spoon to mix it all together. Probably the only time that we’re going to veto our normal coffee fix for a hot choc. Oh yeah, Godiva are also giving away 400 of their signature Chocolixir for FREE. All you have to do is rock up from 12pm on Saturday 7 July and show you're following them on FB or Insta. Win!

Chocolate Tart At Bibelot
If Bibelot say they're doing something "special" for World Chocolate Day, it pays to sit up and take notice. These guys do some of the most drop-dead delicious cakes, gelato and sweet treats in Melbs. This year Bibelot are making a limited-edition chocolate tart petit gateaux for World Choc Day: vanilla tart shell, choc ganache, choc flourless sponge, cocoa nib tuille, choc mousse and a choc mirror glaze. Couple extra gym session this week? What do you reckon?

You can choose between the Classic Munchies, the Pretentious Caramel or the Vegan Nutter (yep, VEGAN) or you can go nuts and build your own. Pop in on World Chocolate Day and pick up a *free* regular ole’ hot choccy to go with it.

They’ve been tearing up the chocolatey drinks since 2012, and this new drink is called Australian Natives and is made with Lilly Pilly, strawberry gum, pepperberry, lemon myrtle and anise myrtle. We’re not even 100% on what all those things are but they sound *delicious*. To celebrate this important day, they’re also going to be serving treats, like pralines and tarts, all day. Get in our bellies.

This World Choc Day, you might just be at the receiving end of that gift, as Cadbury is going to be surprising us lucky Aussies with free blocks of it outside the State Library. More info here.
