Three Northbridge bars, one Perth CBD bar and one Mount Lawley bar form the shortlist for this year’s WA Small Bar Of The Year Awards.

Helvetica, Choo Choos, Bar 399, Mechanics Institute, Clarences and Frisk. Small Bar are the six shortlisted bars for the coveted gong, while Sneaky Tony’s, Rodney’s Bait n Tackle, Strange Company, Guildhall, Budburst, Hopscotch, Dominion League and Lot Twenty made the shortlist for best new small bar.

The 2015 Small Bar of The Year Awards—for bars with a capacity of less than 150 people—celebrate excellence in this vibrant and growing sector of the liquor industry.

Now in their fourth year, the bars are assessed by a judging panel and by the public, creating two awards—the Critics’ Choice Award and The People’s Choice Award. Voting criteria includes product offering (including food service if appropriate), decor, ambience, atmosphere and responsible service of alcohol.

Licensees were asked to nominate their favourite new bar (one that has opened in the last year) to create the shortlist for the best new small bar.

Want to cast a vote for your favourite small bar? Jump on the Small Bar Association of WA site to vote! The bar that receives the most public votes will be announced as the winner at the awards night on 19 October, together with the Critics’ Choice Award and the Best New Small Bar Award.
