Admit it: when it comes to lunch, most of the time you can be found eating at your desk or inhaling something quickly in the kitchen, right? (Don't worry, we're guilty of that too…)

Thankfully Urban Listers, it's time to kiss sad, sorry lunches goodbye and welcome Melbourne's best lunch deals with open arms. A quick and easy lunchtime solution? We won't say no to that!

From soups and salads to meats and takeaway eats, there's something for everyone. No more excuses Urban Listers, this is where you need to be eating lunch from now on.

I don't know about you, but sometimes we crave a good ol' juicy steak or a perfectly cheesy parma for lunch – ohhh yeahh. Three of Sand Hill Road's bustling venues – The Prahran Hotel, The Bridge Hotel and Richmond Club Hotel – cater to our cravings with their $14 Steak or Parma lunch special, which is available every Tuesday and Wednesday. And we all know a pub meal ain't a pub meal without a good serving of chips and garden salad – both are served generously alongside your chosen lunch. Yep, these guys have a well earned spot on our list of Melbourne's best lunch deals!

Express lunch at The Emerson? Yes please!

Tucked away on Clarendon Street in East Melbourne, opposite Fitzroy Gardens and minutes away from the CBD, is GG Restaurant – a European-inspired eatery offering a range of pizzas, pastas, and yummy shares plates. Their two-course lunch deal is a winner, too – for $25 you can feast on dishes such as lamb kofta with dill yogurt and coriander vinaigrette, watermelon salad with Yarra Valley feta, candied pinenuts and basil, or, our fave, the rotisserie meats with hand cut chips. Yum!

Journal Cafe on Flinders Lane has long been one of our fave cafes in the CBD, so it comes as no surprise they offer one of the best lunch deals in Melbourne too! On offer is the $11 'Soupwich' – a half serve of the soup of the day plus half a cheese & tomato toastie. Ummm, can you say delicious?! Two of our most loved things to eat in winter = HEAVEN.

One of Melbourne's best Italian restaurants, Bottega, does a mean lunch special – two courses for $45 (choose from either entrée and main or main and dessert),or $55 if you want to try all three courses. Being the little piggies we are, we always opt for the three courses…but with house made pasta, buttery soft meats and seriously amazing desserts (the tiramisu is a MUST!), can you blame us?!

Many of you may know Brooks as offering one of Melbourne's best degustations, but we're just as mad for their epic lunch deal. The food at Brooks is unparalleled – as one of Melbourne's best restaurants, they champion the finest local produce such as Flinders Island lamb, and organic cheeses from L'Artisan Cheese – and for just $33, you can devour two courses, or three courses for $48 (we'll opt for three courses – the more of Brooks' food we can get on hands on, the better!). Quench your thirst or need for caffeine with bottomless mineral water and coffee.

Steak fans, this one's for you – South Melbourne's Golden Gate Hotel offers $10 steaks all day, every day. Yep – $10. Every. Single. Day. WINNNN! Okay, so it's not a lunch deal per se but if something this tasty is being offered at such a damn good price, then we sure as hell want in!

Looking for lunch with a view? The Lui Bar, part of the Vue de monde group, is the perfect spot. Easily one of the best lunch deals in Melbourne, Lui Bar's 'Counter Meal' includes the dish of the day plus a side (currently it's BBQ beef ribs plus coleslaw – drooool) and a glass of wine or beer, before finishing with a coffee and dessert. The price? A too-good-to-resist $39! And the view from the Rialto? Priceless.

If lunch on the go is more your thing, then you need to get on board with Café Vue's $18 lunchbox. It's all about the 4 S's here – a starter, a salad, a savoury dish, and a sweet – packaged in a neat little box for you to take away. Oh and to our vego and gluten-free friends, don't be jealous – there's a Café Vue lunchbox available for you too! Everybody wins here!

One of Melbourne's most iconic beachfront restaurants, Sails on the Bay in Elwood offers a delicious set menu for lunch that we think is one of Melbourne's best. From Tuesday to Saturday, you can nosh on two courses for $40 or three courses for $45 – this includes a glass of wine plus tea or coffee. Fine food and wine in a beautiful bayside location? Can't say no, Urban Listers.

Pasta doesn't come any better than at Cecconi's on Flinders Lane!

Famous for their authentic Italian cuisine, Cecconi's on Flinders Lane is another contender for best lunch deal in Melbourne. There are two great options – the Cellar Bar lunch special for $35 per person (two courses plus a glass of vino) and the Private Dining Room lunch special for $85 per person (Aperol spritz on arrival, two courses, and coffee or tea). The latter is a great option if you're entertaining or hosting a business meeting, but book in quick because this offer is valid in July and August only!

After killing it last summer with their brilliant tacqueria, Fitzroy's La Condesa has expanded to a full bar and restaurant offering mouth-watering Mexican food and cocktails. Their winter lunch special is our pick for a Friday afternoon - $20 buys you a Torta Ahogada (two pulled pork rolls, frijoles, coriander and pickled onion, served in a hot tomato broth) plus a refreshing grapefruit Tequila Tromba Paloma cocktail. Winner!

Brunswick favourite Albert St Food & Wine recently relaunched their menu and we have to hand it to Chef Jason Rodwell and team – it is damn good! Their express lunch menu is a great way to try Albert St's yummy food – two courses will set you back $40 and three courses is $50 (both include a glass of wine or beer and a coffee). Rodwell uses the express lunch to test new dishes uses fresh, seasonal produce so prepare to be surprised each time you go!

The perfect combination of traditional cooking, modern touches and quality produce, No. 8 by John Lawson is a must-try dining experience at Crown. We're big fans of their dinner menu however the 'Möet Sundays' lunch option is a must-try too – three courses plus two hours worth of Möet Chandon Brut NV Champagne for $130 per person. Sure it's a lot more luxe but if you're going to do a Sunday lunch, you may as well do it right!

What better way to finish our round up of the top lunch deals in Melbourne than with Captain Baxter? We're rather obsessed with their DIY dishes and share plates (the sticky beef ribs with wonton fragrant herb salad is UNREAL!) and the great news is these dishes, plus many more, make an appearance in their set lunch menu. $55 buys you a whole lot of delicious food – your choice of three snacks for first course, two DIY dishes for second, two mains for third and a shared dessert for fourth! Put on your stretchy pants and get eating…oh and don't forget to add a cocktail too!
