Brace yourself, Windsor. Betty is coming.
The famous Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co.—the retro 1950s-style burger bar—just announced its second Melbourne store. Guess who’s the lucky suburb?
Founder David Hales says he’s psyched that more of Melbourne can get their Betty’s fix.
“We know the Melbourne burger market is competitive, but we also know Betty’s Burgers serve the freshest and tastiest burgers. Windsor really is the heart of Melbourne’s bustling restaurant and bar scene, and we’re excited to bring Betty’s Burgers to more guests.”
We’re excited too, David. Mostly because we now don’t have to go into the CBD to get giant concrete frozen custard desserts, topped with peanut brittle, fudge sauce and orange-almond biscuits.
The plan is to offer the same menu as other Betty’s stores, with a similar décor (which means even more red neon for Windsor—soon you’ll be able to see this suburb from space). If you haven’t been to Betty’s before, it justifies the hype. The burgers aren’t your usual face-sized stacks, but the flavour and the meat is bang on.
The rough opening time for Windsor is ‘TBD later in the year’, probably in Spring, so watch this space. We’ll be dropping more details as they come online.
