Melbourne sweet-tooths, get pumped. The trendy team behind Chez Dré is set to open a second (no doubt equally delectable) boutique this May.
Located just a stone’s throw away from Chez Dré, we’re told newbie Bibelot will house nearly everything and anything sweet under the sun. Boasting an artisanal patisserie, gelataria, coffee bar and chocolate shop, this luxury dessertery gives a whole new meaning to the word indulgence (in the best way).
Think petits gâteauxs, bonbons, macarons, delicate biscuits, and more—prepare for the ultimate splurge, Listers. Like Chez Dré, Bibelot will use only the highest quality ingredients, so you can leave your guilty mind at the door. With their signature balance of intricate European-inspired flavours, artisanship and attention to detail, there’s no better reason to climb out of bed and visit this luxurious South Melbourne patisserie.
For book-lovers, the Bibelot library will be home to some of the rarest professional chocolate and patisserie books. Desserts, books and a French patisserie? Sold.
Designed by Melbourne’s own Breathe Architecture, Bibelot’s interior will feature handcrafted creations and pay homage to classic French patisseries. Set to boast recycled timber floors and custom mosaics, we’ve heard Bibelot will be a showstopper.
If you can’t get enough of Bibelot’s sweets, they have you covered. From early June you can reserve a spot at Bibelot’s High Tea Salon for an afternoon tea filled with a selection of sweet and savoury nibbles. Get a group together and reserve a table from Thursdays to Sundays, because knowing how much Melburnians love their treats, this event will book out quick.
When you visit, make sure to pick from a range of gourmet gifts including chocolate, honey, biscuits and teas to take home to your special ones. Or yourself. We would totally understand a no-sharing policy in this case.
