If you’re anything like us, you probably weren’t one of the lucky few who were willing/able to fork out $525 for a seat at Heston Blumenthal’s famed Fat Duck restaurant when it popped up at Crown Melbourne earlier this year for a six-month residency.
Applications for tables stretched past 300,000 and fewer than 15,000 diners were accommodated, so chances are that even if you had the money to burn, you would have missed out anyway.
But those of us who still find themselves in desperate need of some meat fruit or snail porridge are in luck, because Dinner by Heston at Crown is now taking bookings in preparation for its opening in late October.
Currently, bookings are restricted to previous applicants who tried and failed to sample Heston’s delights during his last Melbourne foray, but the gates are expected to be thrown open to the general public later this month.
The “sound of the sea” has never been so close, Listers!
