Get Your Chopsticks Ready: Melbourne Is Getting A Dumpling Pop Up Restaurant

Nights were made for chowing through juicy, pork-filled dumplings. Reputed for being one of the cheapest, scrumptious dishes, Melbourne’s best dumpling makers will be fighting for your chopsticks on Friday the 21 of October!

Running from 5pm-10pm, this free event will see the likes of Tim Ho Wan, China Red, China Chilli and Dragon Boat host a series of dumpling tastings with matched beer. Guests can enjoy a signature dumpling dish with three matched Brooklyn Brewery craft beers, and did we mention it was free?

Spaces are limited to 30 guests per 30-minute seating. With only eight coveted dumpling sittings available, you’ll want to get your runners on to register for a spot!

Promised signature dishes include the pork and prawn Siu Mai from Dragon Boat and Wasabi Prawn Dumpling from Tim Ho Wan. China Red will be steaming up a storm with their favourite spice won ton dumplings while China Chilli is serving Master Zhong’s Dumplings with pork, mixed cabbage, and homemade sweet spicy sauce.

The first 200 guests to arrive at Tim Ho Wan’s pop up will be treated to their sweet, custard Lava Bomb dumpling.

Live music, dumpling making demonstrations and Chinese calligraphy workshops are some of the other promised events.

Sorry, did we mention it was FREE?

Bookings for some dumpling sessions are already sold out (trust Melbourne), but you'll still have the opportunity to register for free dumplings on the 10 October! Keep your eyes peeled for details on the website
