Hankering for a Melbourne music festival but not quite the Stereosonic type? We’ve got just the thing for you, Urban Listers!
Winter one-day festival, Groovin The Moo, has just revealed its 2015 lineup and we’re pleased to say it’s jam-packed with local and international talent, bringing together a genre-hopping collection of artists that features trap legend A$AP Ferg, retro rockers Wolfmother, electro bass up-start RL Grime, indie favourites Ball Park Music and more.
The Triple J supported event will feature performances by the station’s Unearthed winners, giving punters the chance to check out the best new music before it hits the mainstream. You’ll also have the chance to snap up some new-found fashion talent. The festival runs a t-shirt design competition each year, choosing the best entry to be printed and peddled at the show.
Our top picks for the day include Aussie hip-hop stars the Hilltop Hoods, Iggy Azalea’s British hype-girl, Charlie XCX, and New Zealand sibling duo, Broods. If inappropriate nudity and performance art theatrics are your thing, check out pop provocateur Peaches, who will be making her first visit to Australia since 2010. Just there for a good ol’ dance? Hot Dub Time Machine will have you shaking those winter blues out of your bones as you groove into the small hours.
Groovin the Moo 2015 brings some of the most exciting acts on the music scene to regional areas across Australia, stopping off this year in Oakbank (SA), Bunbury (WA), Canberra (ACT), Maitland (NSW) and Townsville (QLD), as well as our very own Bendigo, Saturday 2nd May.
Groovin The Moo’s Bendigo music festival date is held at the Prince of Wales Showgrounds, only a 110-minute drive from Melbourne’s CBD. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Tuesday 3rd February from the event’s website, where you can also find out more about the full lineup.
