A Harry Potter-Inspired Escape Room Now Exists In Melbourne

By Phoebe McRae - 19 Mar 2018

ICYMI, we’re totally vibing escape rooms RN. They’re a bloody great time and totally beat just sitting around with a beer. So imagine our excitement when we heard that a Harry Potter-inspired escape room has arrived in town! Yep, you read that right. A Harry Potter inspired escape room now officially exists in good ol’ Melbourne town—and it may just be the best thing to happen to us (and you) all year.

Nowww, when we say Harry Potter inspired, we don’t mean you’ll be rubbing shoulders with Harry, Hermione and Ron (coz you know, legal). But we do mean TRAPT have created a mystical world for you to explore and escape, called Alchemy. You will literally be ‘trapt’ until you work out a series of riddles in order to hunt down the mythical Philosopher's Stone. Sounds magical, right? Right. BYO thinking cap.

To help you on your noble quest, there’s an epic bar with ‘Flying Cauldron’ non-alcoholic butterscotch beer (a brew for all ages) and all kinds of cocktails that would make any wizard proud. We’re talking the oh-so-potent ‘Exhibito Noctis’ with cardamom and blueberry-infused rum; the ‘Potion of Fire’ with spiced rum that’s bound to bring some fire to your belly; and the ‘Friends Philtre’, a zesty mix that was made for sharing.

The best part (yep, even better than cocktails)? You can book two simultaneous sessions and race against the clock AND your mates. But you've gotta be quick—book here now.

Oh, and one last thing! TRAPT has various experiences running including Espionage, Prohibition and Wonderland, so you should probs book in for one of those too.
