Giddy up, Melburnians! One of the biggest celebrations of the year is coming back around the track—The Melbourne Cup! Just because you're not at the track doesn't mean you can't make the most of the day off and enjoy the festivities.

Lucky for you, there are shindigs happening all over town, and we've put together a list of the best Melbourne Cup parties in Melbourne. So set those fascinators askew, ladies, clip on those cufflinks gents, and get excited to party on Melbourne Cup day with some of the best restaurants in Melbourne!

Lamaro's | South Melbourne

Place your bets on Melbourne Cup day at Lamaro's in South Melbourne, and you'll be sure to spend it in style. At the bar there will be a live screening of all races, and options of champagne and half a dozen oysters for $28. Or if cured meats is more your culinary quest, a charcuterie plate is available for $16 (on top of a full a la carte menu offering). If you'd rather something a little more elegant to match your frocked-up fashion, they offer a two-course $55 set menu, which includes a glass of Pommery Champagne. Regardless on which jockey-horse-combo you put your money on, you'll be winning at Lamaro's.

MUNICH BRAUHAUS | SOUTH WHARF

Oktoberfest is officially over (although it can never really be over when you have Bavarian bier on tap), and we're into spring racing season. Munich Brauhaus in South Wharf invites you to try your luck with their variety of spring-carnival-themed offerings. Choose from a lunch on Melbourne Cup day for $75pp, including sparkling or bier and a 3 course Bavarian feast, or a breakfast and bus package transporting punters to the track ($40pp gets you whisked to and from the racecourse, a glass of sparkling and a breakfast buffet…Bavarian style!). If you're looking for a fun-filled Melbourne Cup after party, Munich Brauhaus are hosting post-race day celebrations with a live band and entertainment, where you can forget (or gloat) about your bets.

THE GRACE DARLING HOTEL | COLLINGWOOD

After a huge Cup Eve party? Head to The Grace Darling Hotel in Collingwood for a great band lineup and DJs partying 'til late. Once you've recovered from that, do another lap of the field and return for race day, with the giant screen showing the race while a sweepstakes takes place. Enjoy a Cup day barbecue and DJ entertainment throughout the afternoon. You'll be giddy with excitement (and bubbly).

The Builders Arms Hotel | Fitzroy

The Builders Arms Hotel, a Fitzroy favourite, is one for the fillies. On Melbourne Cup day, The Builders Arms invites punters to come on down and enjoy drinks and a counter meal at their public bar. If you're after a bit of luxury, they also offer a $75 Bistro meal to share. With a sleek and spacious design, The Builders Arms Hotel is a classy joint where the odds are you'll have a good time.

Mr. Lawrence | Port Melbourne

Jiggle your jockeys into the sweepstakes, and get a group together to attend Mr. Lawrence in Port Melbourne's Melbourne Cup Upstairs, where tables of 8-10 are available. Punters (and mild observers) can enjoy a stunning six-course menu from chef, Ashely Richey, while they catch the race on the big screen. $65 a head covers food, but there is also a bar for the required race-day bubbles.

Campari House | Melbourne

If you're already packing the sunscreen and aviators, and are solidly set on a day screaming by the field, then get excited for Campari House in Melbourne's Spring Racing Breakfast and Bus packages! For $30 per person, race-goers can indulge in a buffet breakfast with champagne or beer, get treated to a return coach transfer to Flemington, and enjoy a Champagne cocktail at Campari House's Lounge Room after party! We'll scream to that.

Sake | Melbourne

Spend your spring carnival race day with pizzaz at Saké, one of the best restaurants in Melbourne. Fillies and fellas can enjoy an $88pp, eight-course contemporary Japanese banquet designed by Shaun Presland. Including a glass of champagne, and a conveniently located screen to watch the Melbourne Cup, this venue has it all. With celebrations kicking off after the race, including a DJ on the riverside terrace, Saké is the place to go for the Melbourne Cup in Melbourne this year.

The Botanical | South Yarra

The Botanical in South Yarra have provided you lucky Listers with a bevy of race-day celebrations—from a champagne breakfast with Nordic eggs, to a four-course set lunch menu. They also have a bubbling after party with live band entertainment. With all the delicious food options, The Botanical is a lovely location to lounge around and take it slow on Melbourne Cup day.

Mr Mason | Melbourne

To complement the fancy fillies and frocks, Mr Mason in Melbourne is formulating a French-inspired menu. With a glass of Mumm Champagne, lunch will be served in the restaurant, with dessert canapés on the terrace. The Races will be screened live and the day's celebrations will include sweeps and a prize for the best hat! This fabulous function is only $55 per person, with an Oyster and Mumm Champagne upgrade available on the day (which you will obviously take).

The Wharf Hotel | Docklands

The Wharf Hotel in Docklands will be hosting a Melbourne Cup Party to get excited about. With eight plasmas throughout the venue, you'll get prime position for the race, and with sweeps, a DJ from 6pm, and a stunning riverside location, what's not to love? We all know you'll be looking pretty special on the day, so snap a selfie and upload it to Instagram (@wharf_hotel #mummfirsts) for your chance to win a $100 Wharf Hotel voucher!

The Vincent | Albert Park

It's all about the fun and frivolity off the track at The Vincent in Albert Park. If you're wondering where to go on Melbourne Cup day in Melbourne, The Vincent is offering an a la carte lunch, a cup sweep, and prizes for best dressed! The party kicks off at 5pm with live band, Phoebe and the Night Creatures, serenading the spring carnival crowd into the evening.

Prahran Hotel | Prahran

Prahran Hotel is inviting you to celebrate Melbourne Cup day with them, and partake in a picnic spread for only $50pp! Graze to your heart's content with a glass of sparkling, and nibbles of cheese, charcuterie, cured salmon, mini roast beef bagels, baby quiches, and ice-cream sandwiches! With prizes for best dressed, and a Melbourne Cup sweep, book fast before others beat you out of the gates.

Terminus Hotel | Abbotsford

The newly opened Terminus Hotel in Abbotsford is putting on a two-course set lunch menu to help you celebrate Melbourne cup day with flair. For $65pp and a champagne cocktail on arrival, your table is secured for the day with a premium viewing spot and 17 screens! With a spring-racing-themed cocktail, The Terminus Hotel is jumping the gun and getting on board with all the best ways to celebrate the Melbourne Cup.

Circa, The Prince | St Kilda

Party it up at Circa, The Prince's 'Winners Circle' after party! Held on The Deck at this stunning St Kilda hot-spot, this celebration will host VIP guests, race day attendees and your precious, pretty selves. Perfect for continuing the party on into the night. Rub shoulders with high profile celebs at this premium (and popular!) experience.

There you have it. Wherever you choose to place your bets this year, you'll find some of the best Melbourne Cup parties in Melbourne on this list, and they just happen to be at some of the best restaurants in Melbourne, too! So quit horsing around, gather your neigh-bours (sorry) and decide where you're going to watch the Melbourne Cup in Melbourne this year.
