Get Ready For Melbourne’s Most Pinterest-Worthy Picnic

By Sophie Oddo - 22 Mar 2019

Off the back of a sell-out event in 2018, The Peninsula Picnic, presented by Steller will once again grace our shores, bringing together the very best of the Mornington Peninsula.

With live performances from some of Australia’s best music acts, award-winning vino, mouth-watering feeds and a setup of Pinterest proportions, it’s safe to say this is far from your average picnic.

World-Class Cuisine

Forget poorly assembled cheese boards and half-hacked blocks of chocolate, this picnic will have guests feasting on nine of the Peninsula’s very best restaurants.

Rare Hare at Jackalope, Casa De Playa, Green Olive at Red Hill, Doc Mornington and Max’s Restaurant are just a few of the big names serving up a diverse range of cuisines, tastes and cooking techniques, using only the region’s best produce.

Top Drops

An event on the Mornington Peninsula wouldn’t be complete without top notch wine, and luckily The Peninsula Picnic, presented by Steller will be overflowing with it.

Prepare your palate for a selection of the region’s most acclaimed wineries and producers, all at your fingertips. Peninsula legends Montalto, Polperro, Prancing Horse and Rare Hare at Jackalope are some of the wineries making a splash.

Live Beats

It wouldn’t be a picnic without tunes, and The Peninsula Picnic, presented by Steller will be bringing together five of Australia’s best music acts to complete the day.

Aussie legends The Rubens will be headlining the festivities with Sarah Blasko, San Lazaro, Tia Gostelow and Fraser A. Gorman all making an appearance.

Activities Galore

Aside from the Grazer’s Grove that will be packed with a selection of the Peninsula’s best wineries and restaurants, there’s a whole heap of other activities to get around when you’re not chilling out to live music, eating and drinking.

Dabble in classic lawn games, wander over to Sweets Lane and indulge in treats from local favourites, venture over to Hayseed Market Stalls and check out the wares of local markets from handmade clothing to homewares galore.

All you need to do is pack your picnic rug and get ready for the Peninsula’s biggest food, wine and music gathering.
