PolePole is Swahili for 'take it easy', something that should be easy to do at the inviting new bar and kitchen in Melbourne's CBD. Located on Little Collins street, PolePole is the hip new East-African-inspired hot spot where guests are invited to slow down, relax, and enjoy the journey.
Pronounced 'pol-eh-pol-eh', the name isn't all that's inspired by Sub-Saharan Africa. The decor, soundtrack, cuisine, and cocktail menu all reflect the culture and motto of taking it easy; African style.
Husband and wife duo, Dean and Jeanelle Mariani run not only a cool place to hang-out, but you can feel good doing it too; with proceeds from imported African beer sales going to not-for-profit organisations such as YGAP and Women for Women in Africa.
With a curated menu of unique cocktails—think ginger, honey, banana and coconut with hints of chilli and cinnamon—and a range of rare and imported African beers, ciders, and spirits on offer, Pol Pol really spoils for choice.
The menu offers finger food—literally—with diners encouraged to roll up their sleeves and get their pointers greasy munching on delicacies like pork chips, ribs, biltong, and pork-filled cigars. Yum!
Head down to Pol Pol and waltz into a little taste of Africa.
