Social-distancing has become so much more than a necessary practice when out in public, to the point where some may even call it a ‘good time’, and what better way to keep your distance from strangers than by holing up in an igloo with a feed, plenty of booze and some mates.

Right now, you can book out an igloo for you and up to six guests at The Wharf Hotel by the Yarra River, the charming Station Hotel in Footscray or the Auburn Hotel in Hawthorn.

A session in one of the igloos will cost you between $49 and $69 per person depending on your watering hole of choice. Each guest will score themselves a three-course meal and a wintery bev; beers, wines and espresso martinis are on offer, but you can’t really go past a hot toddy if you’re a sucker for a theme.

Your booking will get you either an hour and a half or two hours in one of the igloos. Each venue’s menu will differ, so it’s worth taking a look at what’s on offer prior to booking.

You can lock in an igloo at The Wharf Hotel here, the Station Hotel here and the Auburn Hotel here.

Make a day of it and book in for High Cheese at the Westin beforehand.
