Farewell, old friend. We had some good fried chicken ribs together.
Yep, Windsor’s “elusive mistress”, Saigon Sally, is set to close its doors on Sunday 3 September. Hard to believe it opened back in 2013, eh? The year ‘twerked’ and ‘selfie’ were added to the dictionary, and Justin Bieber abandoned his pet monkey in Germany. Oh how the time flies...
Saigon Sally’s owners have decided that four years is enough for the old girl, and they’ve already got plans to transform the space into another restaurant—BKK. It’s gonna be a bold and punchy Thai-based menu, courtesy of new head chef Sean Judd (ex Nahm, Longrain & Chin Chin). Watch this space.
Saigon Sally fans, that means you’ve only got 20 days left to scoff as much Szechuan eggplant, pork Banh Xeo tacos and Wagyu Tartare as possible. Bookings can still be made via Dimmi, or by calling the restaurant on 9533 2342.
Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re gonna go eat some Kingfish Ceviche and listen to Green Day’s Time Of Your Life...
Don't forget, when God closes a door, he opens a restaurant (at least in Melbourne). Here are the five best new openings of 2017.
