The Source Bulk Foods to Open in Prahran

By Megan Osborne - 31 Aug 2014

New Melbourne health-food store, The Source Bulk Foods is set to open in Prahran this September. Supplying you with over 400 bulk products, The Source is not only affordable, but also waste-free and environmentally friendly. Winning combination? We think so!

So what kind of things do they offer? Think nuts, seeds and grains, oils, honey, flour, and confectionary. Even cleaning products. For all your tasty breakfast topping needs, The Source has a huge selection from organic, to gluten free, paleo to vegan.

Just want a snack? No problem, don't let the word 'bulk' scare you. With their 'zero waste' business model, there is no minimum purchase required. But what really sets The Source apart is its ethical stance on environmental sustainability. The Source is proudly plastic-bag free, and encourages customers to bring their own jars, bottles, or bags to fill up with. This saves money on packaging costs and, even better, you can feel good about doing your bit for the planet while stuffing your face with healthy goodies!

Husband and wife duo, Terry and Brenda, were inspired to open The Source in Prahran after visiting and developing a partnership with the original store in Mullumbimby, NSW. 'We instantly fell in love with The Source and what it represents', Terry says.

The Source Bulk Foods in Prahran, is a result of a lifestyle change that Terry and Brenda have embarked on; leaving behind corporate backgrounds in order to pursue their number one priority—starting a business they were passionate about. '(We) are so excited to start promoting health and wellness through real food in Melbourne.'

Well Terry and Brenda, we're pretty excited too. Urban Listers, grab your empty jars and containers and get ready to stock up on all your feel good munchies at Melbourne's newest health food store!

The Source is set to open September 27th.
