All Aboard, The Spirit Of Tasmania Is Shifting Its Port To Geelong

The Spirit Of Tasmania is a great experience if you're looking at heading over to Tasmania to get stuck into some of the best produce, wine, cheese, beer—everything really, that Australia has to offer.

TT-Line, the company behind the Spirit Of Tasmania, has been running ferry services between mainland Australia and Tasmania since 1985. With Port Melbourne being a key port during that period.

Now, after more than 30 years, the ferries will be shifting to a large new port site around the bay at Geelong.

The Corio Quay port base is 70km from Melbourne and will have a new purpose-designed passenger terminal building, car parking for 600 cars, new efficient check-in facilities, food and beverage outlet, pet exercise area, and more.

There's no firm date when the Spirit Of Tasmania will leave Port Melbourne and move to Geelong, but the current lease at Station Pier expires in 2022.

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are some things to do in isolation.
