Yes, there is indeed a god. Just when you thought that the rest of winter would involve you de-icing your windscreen, watching Matty J swan around with his shirt off, and drowning your sorrows in mulled wine—a festival dedicated to doughnuts and beer comes to town.
After the massive response to the first ever doughnut and beer festival, Donut Fest: Winter Edition has been devised to get you through the colder months. This time around it will be a fully cashless event, your ticket will be scanned and you’ll get your very own doughnut and beer debit card to use on the day.
On the doughnut front you’ll be able to pick up some holey delights from Doughnut Time, Nuts About Tella, Dandee Donuts, St Gerry’s, Goldelucks Bakehouse, Senor Churro and many more. Savoury dishes will be supplied by Giant Springs, Gnocchi Bar, The Real Jerk + more, and there’s definitely a fair chance you’ll be parched, so you can whet your whistle with cold ones from the likes of Kooinda Brewery, SquareKeg, Gage Roads, Stomping Ground, Manchuria and more.
Along with all of the eating and drink described, there will be live music, doughnut eating competitions, awards, and a miniature doughnut museum on site.
It all takes place at a new venue, the industrial warehouse of Batman Market, so there will be some cover to escape the cold from.
When: Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 August
Where: Batman Market, 14 Gaffney Street, North Coburg
