You know it well as the place where you shovelled weird food combos into your mouth and labelled yourself as a proper Melburnian foodie—but get ready to say goodbye to the Preston Food Truck Park.
Having kicked around since 2015, this humble High St lot has hosted hundreds and hundreds of weekly events, with foodie themes ranging from Greek, chocolate, Star Wars, mac n’ cheese, vegan, gluten-free, Italian, wine and cheese, Avengers…look, basically anything you can think of, they’ve done it.
But the guys aren’t just going to abandon you and leave you to eat food in like, a sit-down restaurant or anything. They’ll be moving the park to a new location, soon to be announced. (Personally, this southsider is thinking that it’s round about time it was somewhere south of the Yarra.
To send them off with a bang, make sure you get down to the last two (ever!) events at the Preston location.
The first is an Indian Street Food Festival running from 27 – 29 July. Think Bollywood performances, a lot of hand dancing, and wall to wall Butter Chicken.
The second, and last EVER, will be an Asian Street Food Weekend on 3 – 5 August. The guys will be going out with a bang: live tunes and Melbourne’s best Asian food trucks. We’ll be the ones in the corner sobbing our eyes out.
We’d recommend doing as bears do: fill yourself up with so much food that you can sustain yourself till the Preston boys find a new home.
When: 27 – 29 July and 3 – 5 August
Where: 518 High Street, Preston VIC 3072

In slightly happier news, if you rock up to Huxtaburger with a plant today, you'll get a $1 burger.
