So there are no extra days this weekend, but there is still so much on, you just won’t know what to do with yourself! Oh wait, yes you will, because here’s an amazingly awesome list of things to do in Melbourne! From foodie festivals, to open air cinemas, to pop-up parties, Melbourne has done it again!

Thursday 29th

We love that South Melbourne Night Market is running throughout summer, and we’re even more stoked to see one of our favourite brands joining in the fun. Coconut Revolution is popping up in this trendy new night market, selling and sampling their delicious range of hand creams, body butters and more! There will be no lovely bunch of coconuts standing in a row here, they’ll be snapped up too quickly!

Known for screening docos, 80s classics, and cult flicks, get your hipster movie fix on at the Shadow Electric Open Air Cinema at the Abbotsford Convent. Tonight sees the outdoor cinema spot show film All This Mayhem, by the makers of Senna and Exit Through the Gift Shop. It’s got drug taking, some 90s hairdos, and skating. Brush up on your Aussie skating history with this honest but brutal doco!

Abbotsford’s favourite local, the Terminus Hotel, is hosting a four-day Asian Festival in the lead up to the Lunar Festival! Running from today until Sunday, they will be serving up a delicious Asian-themed menu. Think crispy duck, pomelo and soft herb boa, and a pandan pavlova! Cocktails and beers will round out the cultural theme, and the Lunar Festival happening down Victoria Street on the Sunday will be the big finale.

As part of the lead up to the epic Melbourne Barbecue Festival, Fancy Hank’s BBQ in the CBD is hosting a three-course, wood-fired barbecue feast. The dishes include mouth-watering Texan smoked sausages from Bluebonnet BBQ, a ‘Whole Hog’ from the Fancy Hank’s team, and brisket from Silver Creek Smokers. There’s also matched wines from Pepperjack, for those who like a drop with their smokey, meaty madness.

Let your inner animal out this Saturday night at the Zoo Twilights series. Twelve artists over twelve nights in summer make Friday and Saturday nights one heck of an occasion at the Melbourne Zoo. Spot an unseen side of the Zoo with the animal enclosures open until 7pm, and keeper presentations for the lions and elephants. Grab some food and drink, settle down under the stars, and watch the show in this unique setting. Tonight sees Bernard Fanning from Powderfinger take the stage, so what are you waiting for?

The St Kilda Festival kicks off today, as part of the 9-day lead up to one of Melbourne’s biggest festivals! Head down to the O’Donnell Gardens Stage today, to catch the opening address and some live artists. From 12:45pm until 8:40pm at night, there will be a range of entertainment to tickle your fancy. Tomorrow, the events are spread out across the salty suburb. It’s a great way to warm up to the main event next weekend, and feel all cultured while you’re at it!
