Err, how was this not written in flaming letters across the sky like a month ago? For four hours today, you can actually get your hands on real In-N-Out burgers in Windsor.
Not a drill. Not even half a drill.
So basically there’s a new late-night cocktail lounge on Chapel St called Lover (a little project from Paul Turner, ex-Head Chef at Cutler & Co, and Will Newton, one of the guys behind Saigon Sally). And in possibly the greatest culinary coup Melbourne has ever seen, they’ve somehow got LA’s cult In-N-Out Burger to come and take over the kitchen.
This is a strictly limited time sort of deal. The In-N-Out guys will be popping up inside Lover from 11am to 3pm today.
They’re serving three burgers: the Double Double (a basic double cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato and raw onion), Animal Style (a Secret Menu special built from mustard-grilled patties, extra pickles and Thousand Island spread), and Protein Style (basically a regular Double Double wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun).
Once all the burgers are eaten, that’s it. Who knows how long till they’ll be coming back. If ever.
Do we even need to say this? Tell your boss you have gastro and run to 60 Chapel St immediately.
