West Elm Lays Down Designer Roots on Chapel Street

By Sarah Kempson - 18 Sep 2013

Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, West Elm will tomorrow be throwing open its designer doors on South Yarra's Chapel Street, bringing their unique brand of homewares and furniture to our hood.

Housed in the double story Victorian building that used to be home to Politix, the transformation from menswear store to earthy, cosmopolitan and sophisticated homewares and furniture emporium has been significant, with a whopping floorspace of 800sq metres.

Stocking modern furniture, gorgeous linen, flooring, lighting and all manner of accessories and décor for the home, the folk at West Elm have a philosophy of only selling things they truly believe in.

Through collaboration with independent designers, the West Elm store encourages design that impacts positively on the community, its people and ultimately, the environment. They feel design should be unique and easily fit into your lifestyle – whatever that might be.

West Elm is sure to become not only a great place to deck out your house, but also a perfect go-to for gifts for weddings, housewarmings, the hostess, or just for that someone who has everything.

A welcome addition to Chapel Street, the store will be a mecca for those of us wanting to update our homes without breaking the budget. Opening on September 19th, the daily trading hours are Monday to Wednesday 9:30am - 6:00pm, Thursday 9:30am - 9:00pm, Friday and Saturday 9:30am - 6:00pm and Sunday 10:00am - 6:00pm.

Welcome to the neighbourhood!
