Just when we thought we had heard it all, a little birdie told us that a sausage festival is happening right now. Yep, you read that right: a sausage festival. A month-long salute to the sausage. And to be honest, our tums couldn’t be more excited.
ICYMI, Wurstfest is Melbourne's newest (and greatest?) food festival dedicated entirely to your fave kind of meat. Over the next two weeks, you’ll be able to eat your way into a food coma via 20 different types of sausage at Munich Brauhaus AND The Bavarian. We’re talking beef, Vegemite and cheese; chicken Thai coconut; and pork, maple and bacon just to name three.
But the best part of this breaking news is that there’s going to be a sausage party on Saturday 24 February! Think sausage dog dress-up competitions, sausage-eating food challenges and (you guessed it) a truckload of sausages. You can even be crowned sausage king (or queen) if you scoff down five sausages and five steins on the day. There’ll be live music and allllll of the biers, you know, to help wash it down. Get all the deets about the party of a lifetime here.
Bring on the
meat sausage sweats.
