This is the biggest social weekend of the season! And for everyone not a Falls Festival or Beyond the Valley, here's a few things you can get up to this weekend that aren't having a stone cold shower on the top of a hill of paying $12 for a beer.
The Australian Shakespeare Company is back at it again with those awesome summer productions in the Royal Botanic Gardens. This time it’s ‘Twelfth Night’ and it’s set to be an absolute corker. Take a picnic, and a friend and hit the gardens for an evening of love and inevitable heartbreak/death (in the play, not in the gardens). Head here for tickets.
Little Secret Garden Pop Up Bar at Common Man
You’ve never said no to a pop-up bar, so why start now? With a cracking backdrop of the Yarra River and city skyline, the Common Lawn is about to be the secretest most bestest garden pop-up bar you ever did see. Complete with a white picket fence and floral trimmings, indulge in an array of fruity Lillet cocktails from 12pm until the cows come up (don’t worry, I’ll stall them). More info here.
Ben & Jerry’s Openair Cinema
Hawt dayumm, it’s another open air cinema! Except this one is sponsored by the most beloved ice cream company in the entire world (so it’d be rude not to grab a scoop or three while you’re checking out a flick). With a rotating schedule of new releases, and a beach front location, not to mention delicious food offerings, this is a must-do thing to do this summer. Check out the session time and purchase your tickets on the website.
