This Saturday Melbourne’s top bakeries are joining forces to hold the ultimate festive bake sale, Cake + Kindness. It isn’t only in the name of festive cheer and the ultimate month of indulgence but something more meaningful.
Cake + Kindness is raising money for Many Hands—a paid training program supporting young women from refugee backgrounds enter the workforce. The 2020 training program will support women in gaining valuable skills in hospitality and events services.
So, begin your festive diet (or lack thereof) a bit earlier this year and kick it off with some of Melbourne’s finest. The bake sale will see vegan baked goods from Mister Nice Guy, freshly baked bread from Loafer Bread, Woodfrog Bakery’s to-die-for pastries, Turkish treats from Babajan, Mörk Chocolate’s ridiculously good chocolate desserts and oh so many more.
However, if you don’t believe me in saying calories don’t count if consumed in the name of charity there will be other options on the day. Posies and floral gifts usually reserved for bespoke weddings and events from Cecelia Fox will be exclusively for sale. Market Lane Coffee will also be there brewing up the perfect cake accompaniment.
