Flinging open its doors on Friday night, Dear Liza is set to up the heat in St Kilda, with finger lickin' ribs, fresh salads and seafood, and buckets of beer on the menu.
Named after the nursery rhyme 'There's a Hole In Your Bucket', Dear Liza is all about the buckets, filled to the brim with everything from everything from chargrilled smoky pork ribs to peri peri prawns. Listers, we predict a whole lotta empty buckets at this new Melbourne restaurant!
It's not all about the meat here, though. Having worked in hospitality for 20 years, owner Rochelle Honour saw a niche market, not only for buckets, but for a restaurant that caters for both the clean eating crowd and the carnivores. Dear Liza is veggie-, Paleo- and vegan-friendly, promising to keep all tummies happy (and full!).
So, what's can you expect in that bucket of yours? Dear Liza's menu features a range of salads, from your garden variety to grainy goodness bowls. Picky eater? You can build your own salad from Dear Liza's BYO salad menu. On the other end of the health spectrum are the buckets of ribs (one lucky TUL staffer had a sneak peek recently and has called it – Melbourne's best ribs!) and seafood, sold by the weight and accompanied with a dip of your choice. Sweets? The Dear Liza dessert menu is just as scrummy-sounding, including house made ice cream, grilled fruits and churros. Yum!
Just can't wait 'til dinner to test it out? Dear Liza will be serving lunch, too, offering a Liza's Lunch Box for just $12.50.
Dear Liza is THE St Kilda restaurant to try this summer, promising to bring buckets of fun (and ribs, and seafood…and beer) to the southside. We'll see you there, Listers!
